As cold as ice!

Sometimes the snow comes down in June
Sometimes the sun goes 'round the moon...

So you have it - the above are Vanessa Williams' opening lines in the song Save the Best for Last. It's not June but having snow in April in the UK, when it's supposed to be Spring, should now no longer be a surprise to anyone. You can either blame it on global warming, or call it a sign that the world is finally coming to an end, but I always see the weather as symbolic to life.
The weather is wonderful - it creates setting, it affects one's moods and emotions, and most of all, it determines one's daily plans for the day/week/month!! The wonders of such a creation by the Almighty should be enough for us to reflect on the majestic Lord, and work our way to be closer to Him.
Let's get back to the weather in the UK. Two weeks ago, there were rain, sleet, hail and snow. To the excitement of the kids, last night and today, the quantity has increased since the last downfall; i.e: more snowball fights! Despite the excitement, it is just cold, cold and cold! Correction - freezing, freezing and freezing cold!
About the same time last year, along with my off-springs, I recall enjoying the magnificent warmth of Spring with the person I loved most. But today, I cannot help thinking how things have drastically changed - the weather, circumstances, and life in general. Does the cold weather symbolise everything opposite to warmth, which represented love and life? Or does it simply symbolise how life is so unpredictable and mysterious that we've just got to be prepared to face the challenges ahead?
I'd like to believe that it is the later. Have faith in Him and everything proceeds. Wallahu'alam

Memang itulah kehidupan yang penuh dengan cabaran dan dugaan yang tidak terdaya kita menjangkakannya kerana segalanya adalah hak Yang Maha Esa.

k d,

i love how you connect the weather with life's unpredictability. Curve balls, weird weather...we take it as they come, don't we. In a way we are free willed but we are also not in total control. Nevertheless, as human beings, we have the choice to choose where to go by our actions whereas the birds, trees, and rocks...will be gone. (ni dah masuk nak merapu dah ni hehehe).

anyway...you know me? what face did you recall ? lol I would know you bec I vaguely associate baju kuning karat with your face (betul tak?) *wink, but i was just one of the juniors...dah la masuk lambat..duduk dgn akak2 f6 :)

Hell D, England or London can have 4 different weathers in a day.
Our winter just over, snow and ice on the ground since late November.
But I guess you over there don't experience extremes like we do here. -28'c!! For days too.
And Summer? Hotter than Petaling street, KL at noon, ha ha.
Right the weather gone to mini skirt temp, 16'c. WhoooHooo! Better than seeing snow, ha ha.
Drop in when free D,stay easy and have a nice day, Lee.

Yeah, an old cliche but always nice to mention about the weather because UK has such diverse weather, something the English themselves talk about everyday. It's supposedly spring this time around but there was a snowfall last sunday and the week before (easter sunday 23rd march). Nevertheless the snow on the ground here in Loughborough was not that slushy. This week, daytime temp is a double digit, between 10 to 13 but at night it can drop to 1 degree Celsius. So, it's a cold and frosty morning for the past few days since monday.

Hi D, what lies behind you, and what lies in front of you pales in comparison to what lies inside of you.
Stay easy D, and the clouds will drift by bring out the sun.
You have a nice weekend, best regards, Lee.

Dear D,

I agree that the unpredictability of the weather is akin to the unpredictability of life itself. I too believe it is the latter. Life is such a mystery! Unfathomable!

I have another thought for you.

One is as strong as the gifts of challenge from the One above. As we know it God only gives us challenges that He knows we can shoulder.

I know many friends who are challenged with immense adversities and yet they ride the waves with sheer patience and integrity. I do admire them for having steelness of determination in their faith.
