not a bad weekend

I'd say my weekend wasn't too bad.

The hospital equipments were finally collected on Friday, after such a long wait. It's a relief to see all the things go as their presence brought strong memories of Mr D's last days, full of pain and discomfort.

Once the things were gone, it meant more tidying up to do. I began sorting out things that didn't belong to any of us and did all that was necessary. Somehow, I haven't yet sorted out Mr D's clothes or personal belongings. Well, all remains untouched, except for his personal documents. Phew, thank God Mr D was such a tidy and organised person - everything is in order and placed in neat folders (unlike mine!).

On Saturday, I got a book through the post from the dear Kak Teh - the wonderful works of her beloved Awang Goneng: Growing Up in Terengganu. WooHoo!!! I picked up the book and read through the first few pages. I was already glued to it but somehow, the children really knew how to take me off it - calling for things to be done. So, I gave in to their calls because a book needs to be enjoyed wholeheartedly: physically and mentally, and I wasn't going to spoil it all. Once I get all these settled, I will go away to that enchanted land called Teganu with those picturesque words of Awang Goneng, don't you fret!

Then, today, the K's came over with their parents (my second cousin), bringing me a bagful of things from home. Among them were some gems I had asked for - an autographed copy of Life is an Open Secret from my old chummy, Sis Zabrina (super WooHOO!!), and two more books: Tunku Halim's 44 Cemetry Road and Norma Kassim's A Walk Through Life.

With all that said, I don't know why I am still here, typing away when I have four good books (minus those three from the library - yikes!) to drift off with. So, if you don't hear anything from me in the near future, you'll know where I am...

Bismillaah

As Salaamu 'alaykum and peace to all,

Sweet Ijah, Alhamdulillaah, i am glad to know that you have received the books. Stay strong dear, remember His Words...

"Nobody can remove hurt except Allah. Even if someone tries to cause you hurt, stay firm in your belief and remember that no one can cause you any pain if Allah does not desire it for you. " And if Allah touches you with hurt, there is none that can remove it but He; and if He intends any good for you, there is none that can keep back His favor; He brings it to whom He pleases of His servants; and He is the Oft Forgiving, most Merciful." Yunus 10:107

Love you loads,
Sis Zabrina

Saya ada pinjam 3 novel dari library tapi tak 'bergerak' pun baca.... maybe sebab saya tak pandai pilih buku... baca sikitpun dah rasa boring...

abgngah said awang goneng is a close fren of his good buddy. Infact Awang and abgngah had teh tarik once in kg tunku after clinic hours. Fascinating fella. Slightly eccentric like half of abgngah's frens!

Dijji, I think Tunku Halim's was the last book that I read since 3 months ago (bought James Frey's A Million Lil Pieces but felt downright disappointed soon after finding out that the supposedly true life-story was actually fabricated... terus mogok baca buku and buat beading works instead, hahahaha, boleh?).

I wrote here in my blog about these two books, actually.

Aiyoh, tales in 44 Cemetery Road was gripping lah! If only the local moviemakers could do some Malay horror shorties on TV based on Tunku Halim's (et al), mesti bessssst!!!! Tapi, kalau baca kat UK, less impact, kot. Kalau baca kat M'sia (like moi, baca sorang-sorang kat rumah masa husband away at work)....serrrreeeeeeem!

Dear D's wife,
Maybe you don't know me but....I know your late husband since 1999 when we(I & My hubby) are at Peremba-Putrajaya. In fact my hubby also quiet close to your late hubby.....I'm very touching with what you have wrote in your blog....I always hear about your late hubby from my husband since they went to Sudan together....For your information since my hubby knew about your late hubby condition until his last day, my hubby never talk about it....it is a trauma to him also..where a few month before that your late hubby had called him to invite him to go to UK to work (part time "Cuci Building"-thier joke)and visit him.....you know all my husband things back here like digital camera, t-shirt, watch....all from your late husband (what i heard my hubby bought it from your hubby with a "friend" price)His still kept all his thing, sms and email(no one dare to touch or delete).....he always talk to me that he hardly believed that "H" has left...(look like he is still up there)...I'm not writing this to upset you more but that is the reality that he feel,I thing they became more closer when they are in Sudan.....I am proud of you as a wife and a woman in this situation which I'm also afraid to think if this situation happen to me.I hope that you always be strong for the sake of your 4 childs....Doa I & Kamal my hubby semoga you tabah dalam mengharungi hidup...remember that Allah sentiasa bersama dengan orang yang penyabar......(Sorry for my English seems I'm not very good in gramma)Wassalam.
