Could it be C.....?

Today I went to the hospital and was explained of Mr D's health condition by three different people: Mr D, Dr S and a registrar. This is what I make of it.

The doctors have found that there's a lump on Mr D's oesophagus/ food pipe. For now, it is only diagnosed as tumor, and only on Thursday will we get the actual results. However, the doctors suspect that it is cancer because only then are all the other problems explained. The cancer cells release some sort of substance that makes the blood clot, i.e: the deep vein thrombosis (DVT).

Mr D went for a CT scan today to see whether there are any problems in any other parts of his body. He has also had a procedure done to have a tube and filter in, by making a hole in his neck. This is to prevent any blood clots from travelling upwards, causing Pulmonary Embolism (PE) which is deadly.

On Thursday, once the results of the biopsy come in, the doctors will have a meeting to decide what happens next; if it is cancer, then whether it will need surgery, radiotherapy or chemo.

I have hardly stopped crying since last night, when the C word was mentioned to me. I have also called family back home for further updates. In this special month of Ramadhan, perhaps your good wishes and du'a will help Mr D heal faster... Thank you friends. I'll update on Thursday or Friday.
